DP Canes Travel Teams

Diamond Pro proudly runs travel baseball teams under the name DP Canes, ranging from 8U–17U. Each team is led by highly qualified local high school or regional coaches, ensuring the best instruction and development possible.

Our program gives student-athletes the opportunity to grow both on and off the field — developing emotionally, physically, and mentally — while competing in some of the top tournaments in the Northeast.

Through structured winter practices and a competitive summer season, we teach players how to become complete ballplayers by focusing on fundamentals, discipline, and learning how to play the game the right way.

Proven Success

• 125+ DP Canes alumni have gone on to play college baseball at the Division I, II, III, and Junior College levels.

Q: How many players are on each team?

A:

• 10U–15U: Teams will have no more than 13 full-time rostered players.
  
  

• 16U–17U: Teams will have no more than 13 rostered position players. Additional players may be added as Pitcher Only (P.O.) roles to help manage workloads and tournament depth.
  
  

Q: Where do the teams travel for tournaments?

A:

• 9U–12U: Regional tournaments in Rochester, Syracuse, Cortland, Buffalo, and one “destination” event (e.g., Sandusky, OH – Cedar Point).
  
  

• 13U–15U: Same regional base with one destination event (e.g., Sandusky, Pittsburgh, etc.).
  
  

• 16U–17U: Attend standard tournaments and college team camps for recruiting exposure.
  Tournaments are selected based on the overall talent and goals of each team.
  
  

Q: How many teams are formed at each age level?

A:
We aim to have two teams per age group:

• National Team – top-level talent and experience.
  
  

• American Team – developmental team with growth potential.
  In cases where two high-level teams are formed, the second may be labeled a Select Team instead of “American” to reflect its equal talent level.

• Youth teams are designated as Orange or Green or by the head coach's last name. Each team will play a tournament schedule that best fits the talent level of its roster.
